Des Moines, IA Solar
Iowa Solar employs our own installation teams instead of outsourcing. Our installers are always trained together at our headquarters in Iowa. Of course that's why we're Iowa Solar. We are a local small business that grew out of the Quad Cities on the Iowa/Illinois border.
Iowa Solar doesn't just do solar panel selling - we handle all the installation too. Did you know there are tons of companies out there that promise you solar quotes and a cheap price on solar, but then they outsource their entire installation jobs? That's right! Some companies sell solar but don't install it. And these are some of the biggest companies out there. So if something goes wrong with an installation or if they install bad quality panels, you won't even really know who installed your solar system. With Iowa Solar we train and employ our own crews for solar.
If you live in Des Moines, West Des Moines, or anywhere else in the center of Iowa, we are happy to help you. We can even meet with you over Zoom to discuss the amount of solar you need for your home. Every person's home is different and every person uses a different amount of power depending on what you spend your day doing. Our professionals can tell you exactly how many panels you need and how we will install them for you.

What kind of technology do you use?
We install microinverters on most of our solar panel systems. This converts the DC power from the solar panel directly into AC power at the source, meaning we are usually not running many DC wires around your house. This greatly simplifies the solar installation process and enables us to provide excellent pricing and quick service for all our customers. Microinverters are an awesome technology that help you get more out of your solar panels by maximizing the amount of electricity generated. Electricity is lost in transmission when it is transmitted in Direct-Current (DC) form, and so the conversion done by our microinverter systems saves you significant money by improving your power generation.
If you are curious about solar technology, we recommend using Enphase microinverters for your solar installation system. We also install solar panels from manufacturers like Q-Cell, but also others like Panasonic and LG (but at a premium as these premium brand panels are more expensive). We are also able to install SunPower and SolarEdge inverters and we can install DC optimizers too.
Whether you are a lifelong resident of the state capital of Iowa, or simply a transplant after going to school nearby at Iowa State University, we are happy to talk to you about solar power. Residents of the greater Des Moines metropolitan area can trust Iowa solar to fulfill all their solar power needs whether it be battery backup, rooftop installation, or just a free consultation. If there's a big storm in Iowa, our battery backup systems can ensure that you have power even when the power in the grid goes out. You can rest easy with a piece of mind provided by choosing Iowa solar to install a battery backup system for your home.
